Bacterial vaginosis is about as unpleasant as it can be. (My wife, an RN, basically wrote this article for you ;) If you have it, it might seem like nothing is ever going to take away the unbearable itching or the uncomfortable burning sensation that plagues you almost night and day. You have probably tried just about every bacterial vaginosis treatment available on the market and nothing has worked to date. So what do you do now?

Take heart, because there are yeast infection home remedies available for you to try right in the privacy of your own home. But if you?re thinking of going the natural remedy route, you might want to first talk to your doctor to make sure that what you?re suffering from is indeed bacterial vaginosis and not some other problem! Often you can describe your symptoms on the phone and get an idea of what's going on without actually going to your doctor.

And make sure you check up on any possible drug interaction with another drug you may be taking. You want to make sure that any herbal or natural remedy that you?re planning on taking doesn?t react adversely with another drug.

But the particular bacterial vaginosis treatment that we're about to discuss is very popular and used by many women to help rid themselves of their bacterial vaginosis. It is a yeast infection home remedy that makes use of unsweetened yogurt. You may have heard of this before, but here's how to go about it:

There are two simple methods we'll cover here, but there are others. Anyway, the first method requires you to literally paint the walls of the vagina with the yogurt. Since this can be a fairly messy affair before and afterwards, you might also want to wear a pad while the yogurt is within you. Make sure the yogurt is unsweetened with live bacterial cultures. So be sure to read the label first.

The second method involves the use of a tampon and is slightly less messier: Simply coat the tampon in the unsweetened yogurt and insert into the vagina. Replace it every few hours or so. How long should this go on? Use your judgment; it depends on the level of bacteria present in you when you start.

Other than using yogurt as a natural yeast infection home remedy for bacterial vaginosis treatment, there's another method that utilizes garlic. Known as your basic wonder-herb, garlic can do just about anything that you need--including warding off evil spirits! But seriously, this remedy can work if you can put up with the garlic smell. Because many women swear by this method as a great bacterial vaginosis treatment that can be done at home.

The most popular way to go about this involves peeling garlic cloves and wrapping the peeled cloves in a piece of gauze. Now tie it off with unwaxed dental floss. There may be other creative ways to do this, but this one is known to work. You then insert this suppository into your vagina leaving a length of the dental floss dangling to be able to pull it out when you need to. This should be done every few hours or overnight until the infection gets better. You didn't know you could make your own garlic suppositories, did you!

You can also take garlic in pill form, like you would for controlling bad cholesterol. Same for the yogurt bacterial culture--they can be taken in pill form. The yogurt is available as lactobacillus acidophilus tablets. This is a little slower than the suppository method, but definitely easier.

There are other natural yeast infection home remedies that work if the above two methods don't suit you. Bacterial vaginosis treatment methods can also involve apple cider vinegar baths. After you've cured yourself, remember to try to wear only cotton underwear and looser-fitting clothing. Avoid antibiotics unless absolutely necessary, stick to a good balanced diet, and exercise.

Yeast Infection Cures - Safe - Easy and Effective Cures to Rid You of Your

A yeast infection cure is simple and easy in most cases. Only a few really stubborn cases require the intervention of strong prescription medication to cure the infection caused by the yeast bacteria, Candida.

A yeast infection, in reality, is when the normal flora present in the vagina becomes unbalanced, allowing yeast to multiply to rapidly.

Of course, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure and in the case of yeast infections, this is especially true. If you have to take antibiotics for an illness, you can often prevent getting a yeast infection as a result by eating yogurt with active cultures or drinking buttermilk every day during the period of medical treatment, ensuring the ?good? bacteria flourish and yeast bacteria do not overgrow.

Avoid wearing tight, damp or wet clothing for an extended period of time because the moist, wet environment provides yeast the perfect place to overgrow.

The most common yeast infection cure used today is readily available in the form of non-prescription medication which is contained in a suppository meant to be inserted into the vagina and left overnight.

This treatment must occur several days consecutively in order to effectively stop the overabundance of yeast. These treatments can be very effective when used as directed and are quite convenient to use.

Natural yeast infection cures include oral intake of lactobacillus acidophilus available from health food stores, vinegar douches, and use of yogurt-soaked tampons.

The idea behind each of these natural cures for yeast infections is that they create a pH balance in the body which encourages the right balance of naturally present bacteria rather than the over abundance of yeast.

In stubborn cases that refuse to respond to any of the normal cures, prescription medications, taken orally, can be used to help the body return to health.

People who have diabetes, immune system disorders, or simply a very persistent yeast infection turn to these cures on the direction of their doctor or health care provider.

Bacterial Yeast Infection - What is it and What to do About It?

A bacterial yeast infection, whether present in the female vagina or the male penis, is annoying and painful. It can also be spread by sexual activity to an uninfected sexual partner if unprotected sexual intercourse occurs.

A bacterial yeast infection is simply the overgrowth of bacteria that is always present, to some extent, in the human body. These bacteria are present in the human digestive tract, sexual organs, and sometimes even the mouth.

When provided with an environment in which the yeast can multiply and flourish, the number of bacteria becomes so great that symptoms occur.

Symptoms of a bacterial yeast infection in females can include itching and burning of the genital area including the vulva, labia, and vagina.

There may be a discharge from the vagina which can be cloudy, or thick and white, and may have the consistency of cottage cheese. The discharge may also have a strange smell or odor which is not normal or the vaginal area.

The signs in a male can range from completely non-existent to itching and burning of the penis. The male may experience a discharge from the penis and painful or burning as urine is passed.

An infection caused by yeast bacteria can be present in babies, children, or adults of either gender and may occur without any sexual contact of any kind.

Because the genital area is moist and warm, bacteria can flourish and yeast can over-multiply. Even babies can get these infections when feces in diapers contact their genital organs.

Male Yeast Infections Usually Minor And Treatable

Free Video Reveals 1 Weird Tip To Quickly Cure Your Candida Overgrowth & Enjoy Permanent Freedom From Yeast Infections In As Little As 12 Hours - Guaranteed!

>> Yeast Infection Guaranteed Treatment Click Here <<

Male yeast infections are usually minor problems that can are easily treated with antifungal creams or ointments. A male yeast infection occurs from sexual contact with women who have a yeast infection. Not every male who is exposed to a yeast infection will get one. Men are at increased risk if they have diabetes or are uncircumcised.

Signs and symptoms of male yeast infections include:

* Soreness and irritation at the head of the penis

* Itching of the head of the penis

* White, clumpy discharge

* Red color at the head of the penis

* Burning sensation during intercourse

* Burning sensation during urination

* Severe itching and pain

* Red patches and blisters on the head of the penis

* Transient rash

* Jock Itch.

Men who are not circumcised may be affected worse than those who are because the foreskin holds in moisture. Men with HIV or other immune system disorders are also more susceptible to getting a male yeast infection.

Sometimes males who have yeast infections have no outward signs or symptoms. However, if your female sexual partner gets a yeast infection after having sex with you, it might be a good idea to get yourself checked. Yeast infections can easily be passed back and forth between sexual partners.

Some males treat their yeast infections with Monistat vaginal cream which is typically used for female yeast infections. Put a few drops of white vinegar in the cream, mix it together and then apply the mixture to the affected area. Some people have reported great success with this method to treat male yeast infections, but the use of vinegar seems to be the key. Don't apply straight vinegar because it will cause a serious irritation in the sensitive genital area.

Some males with yeast infections may need to go to the doctor to obtain a prescription for Diflucan or Nizoral. Because Nizoral is a very powerful anti-fungal it is very hard on your liver. This is not something you want to take unless you absolutely have to. Diflucan is relative safe and there is one version that is available over the counter. FDA approved oral drug often clears the male yeast infection in just one dose.

The use of a condom will often prevent men from getting yeast infection from their sexual partners. The key to successful treatment is early intervention. Be sure to talk to your doctor at the very first sign of a male yeast infection so that that will not have to suffer needlessly.

Three Most Common Causes of Male Yeast Infection

By knowing the top three causes of male yeast infection, it is much easier for a man to avoid getting an infection or passing infection back and forth with his partner. As with any infection or illness, prevention is the best possible treatment!

In order to understand the causes of yeast infections, it is important to understand the infection itself. Yeast bacteria are normally present in the human body, both in the digestive tract and sexual organs, but in limited numbers. There are other bacteria normally present in the body which are called good bacteria.

These good bacteria work to restrict the less desirable bacteria to healthy levels so that they do not become too abundant. A male yeast infection, just like a female yeast infection, occurs when this balance gets out of whack.

The single most common cause of male yeast infection is unprotected sexual activity with a partner who has a yeast infection. In fact, partners can pass the yeast infection back and forth so unless both partners are treated, it can turn into a seemingly endless cycle.

Another common cause of male yeast infection is taking prescription antibiotics. Tetracycline is a common culprit but other antibiotics can have the same result. This is because antibiotics indiscriminately kill bacteria, both good and bad ones.

This sets up a situation where the yeast bacteria can overwhelm the good bacteria.

Yet another cause of male yeast infection is undetected or uncontrolled diabetes. Because yeast bacteria thrive on sugar and uncontrolled diabetes causes too much sugar to be in the body, this can result in rampant yeast growth.

These are the three most common causes of male yeast infections. There are a few other suggested causes, but many of them are not proven; for example, some people say that drinking too much beer causes yeast infection in men because of the yeast in beer. This, however, is not scientifically proven.

What Causes Candida Yeast Infections?

Free Video Reveals 1 Weird Tip To Quickly Cure Your Candida Overgrowth & Enjoy Permanent Freedom From Yeast Infections In As Little As 12 Hours - Guaranteed!

>> Yeast Infection Guaranteed Treatment Click Here <<

There are many species of Candida to be found in the human body and the most common of all of these is Candida Albicans. Even though the chance of a having candida yeast infections is always present, as it is believed that the large majority of people have the candida yeast in their digestive tract, it is only under certain conditions that the risk of infection increases.

Candida Albicans can normally live quite happily in the body most of the time, causing no health issues. However, under certain conditions it can grow and cause numerous symptoms and complications.

Candida Albicans tend to prefer to the warm moist areas of the body, including in he gastrointestinal tract, the vagina, armpits, oral cavity and folds in the skin, and so these are the areas that the infection tends to hit first and where symptoms can be spotted for early diagnosis.

There are a number of triggers that cause the Candida yeast to overgrow and cause an infection, and some of the most common ones are as follows: -

1. A candida overgrowth can be caused if someone has to take prescribed drugs such as antibiotics or steroids a prolonged length of time, maybe because they are suffering from a reoccurring illness.

2. Infection can occur to people who abuse drugs (prescribed or non prescribed) or alcohol.

3. Also, if a person?s immune system has become weakened through a condition that effects the immune functions of the body they can be more susceptible to candida infections.

There are some statistics that suggest that around 15% of all people who suffer from a weakened immune system are likely to contract some form of Candida yeast infections at some time during their illness.

If left untreated it can allow the Candida yeast infection to cause problems throughout the body and be potentially life threatening, especially if candidia albicans spores get into the bloodstream and infect the brain, eyes, kidneys and heart.

4. Excessive use of devices that are implanted in to the skin such as urinary catheters, IV ports or needles can allow extra Candida yeast to gain access to the body through the bloodstream.

5. Plus the candida can actually enter a person's bloodstream if they happen to have cuts in their skin or the mucous membrane.

The best and most natural way that the body can keep the risk of an infection to a minimum is to ensure that the levels of good bacteria (probiotics) in the GI tract are maintained at a healthy level, and to ensure that the immune system is working well.

These steps, along with keeping stress levels to the minimum and having a healthy diet, with minimal sugar, yeast products and keeping the amount of processed foods to the minimum, give someone a good chance of keeping themselves infection free.

Also, it is common sense to maintain a good level of personal hygiene.

The Danger Of Untreated Vaginal Yeast Infections

When you feel an itching and burning sensation in your vaginal area and the sensation seems to persist, you may be having an yeast infection. It is estimated that 50 percent of the women in the world will suffer from vaginal yeast infection in their lifetimes. So you are definitely not alone. However, some conditions can be more serious than the other.

The fact is within our body, there are already various strains of yeast. Their presence is important in maintaining our overall health and helping in the digestive process.

Symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection may include pain and discomfort when performing normal bodily functions such as urinating, during sexual activity or following sexual intercourse. There may also be an itching and irritation or burning sensation of the vagina. In addition, an infected person may have a vaginal discharge. This discharge can vary from person to person. The consistency of the discharge may be dense or watery and milky-like in color. Also present may be a non-offensive odor.

Some people may leave their yeast infection untreated. This may be okay for some people as they see the infection go off after a few days. But for some people, untreated yeast infection may persist. This may be an indicator of a more serious health issue.

If the yeast infection is left untreated, the symptomatic pains of this infection may continue and this may worsen the severity. It is important to note that sometimes, the infection may progress normally and the body wonderfully clears up the condition on its own. But that doesn?t mean the yeast infection is gone. It?s simply a temporary relief. One such example is during the menstrual cycle. During menstruation, blood flow increases the pH level within the vagina. This reduces the activity of the yeast cells because these cells do not grow in high pH environment.

Besides the pain, itchiness and discomfort that arise from yeast infection, the chance of an untreated yeast infection developing into other complication is rare. Nevertheless, it does occur, especially in chronic yeast infections. One such medical condition that may develop as a result of an untreated yeast infection is a blood condition called sepsis. This is a deadly condition of the blood stream that results from the spread of bacteria.

Another medical condition that may arise if the yeast infection is left untreated is vulvovaginal candidiasis. It is an inflammation of the vulva and the vagina Such condition is more common for women who have three or more yeast infections in a year.

The Scenario of Chronics Yeast Infection

Free Video Reveals 1 Weird Tip To Quickly Cure Your Candida Overgrowth & Enjoy Permanent Freedom From Yeast Infections In As Little As 12 Hours - Guaranteed!

>> Yeast Infection Guaranteed Treatment Click Here <<

While it is often called Chronic Candidiasis in medical terms, chronics yeast infection results from an overgrowth of yeast in the gastrointestinal tract. However, it can likewise occur in conjunction with mucus membrane. There are a wide range of factors underlying an elevated risk of chronics yeast infection including using antibiotics, taking birth control pills, taking food loaded with carbohydrates, yeast-containing food, and pregnancy (in case of women).

Yeast infection illness symptoms can be complicated for those trying to diagnose their condition. Chronics yeast infection is represented by a variety of symptoms depending on the specific label of infection. In case of women, for example, vaginal infection by yeast shows in recurring symptoms of itching, a burning sensation, and abnormality in discharge. Gastrointestinal infection is shown by symptoms such as heartburn, bloating, constipation or diarrhea. A respiratory allergy with sneezing and puffing is another indicator of the condition. Menstrual abnormalities in women can correspondingly point to infection with yeast. Anxiety, frequent memory lapses, depressed mood, and lack of alertness are all possible symptoms associated with the effect of chronic candidiasis on the nervous system. Fatigue, headache, and irritability are some of the other generic symptoms associated with yeast infection.

The prognosis is often not that clear. Chronic candidiasis is an ailment that still lacks a remarkably precise and clear definition. Therefore, no laboratory test exists that can point out an affliction clearly. For Down-to-earth purposes, all cases of recurring vaginal irritation and thick vaginal discharge are projected as plausible cases of chronic candidiasis at the root. Patients with generic complaints as mentioned above receive a physical examination, CBC (Conclusive Blood Count) diagnosis, tests for serum and liver enzymes, and reading of thyroid glands. If these checks reveal no other dysfunction, then chronics yeast infection is projected as the workable cause of the symptoms reported.

The treatment of Chronic Yeast Infection can be more complex than one might think. Therapies for treating chronic candidiasis encompass substantial treatment with anti-fungal drugs until the symptoms are totally eliminated. Nystatin is the many admired drug for this purpose, taken orally and (in women with vaginal infection) as suppository. Moreover, food changes are suggested, particularly a check on foods rich in sugar or simple carbohydrates. An additional specialized therapy is candida allergy shots that allow the immune system of the body to block out future growth of candida after it has been injected into the patient's body in very small amounts.

Considering how to prevent Yeast Overgrowth Infections might be the best approach. Preventing chronic yeast infection requires you to keep clear of moldy (hot and damp) environments, practice regular body cleansing (bowel, kidney, liver and mouth), keep physically active, and wear clothes that allow sufficient air inside so that a person is not damp with sweat. Use yogurt with food in a proper amount to defeat the infectious yeast in the bowels and digestive tract. Eat healthy and stay healthy.

Candida Diet: A Surefire Way to Beat Yeast Infections

Free Video Reveals 1 Weird Tip To Quickly Cure Your Candida Overgrowth & Enjoy Permanent Freedom From Yeast Infections In As Little As 12 Hours - Guaranteed!

>> Yeast Infection Guaranteed Treatment Click Here <<

A Candida diet is recommended for those suffering from Candidiasis, or the overgrowth of the yeast Candida Albicans in the body.

Candida Albicans exists naturally in the body, especially in the intestines. Normally, they would not cause any harm to a healthy body. Unfortunately, though, if there is an overgrowth of these fungi, it could cause a systemic infection (an infection that affects your whole body). In the case of Candidiasis, the fungus, due to its abnormal numbers, releases toxins that could harm the internal organs and the mucus membranes. If it manifests in the throat it is called thrush and vaginitis if it occurs in the vagina.

The principle of the Candida diet is to alter the body's chemistry to make it hostile to the Candida, to encourage the proper balance of biotics in the system, and to discourage the overgrowth of Candida.

The Diet Plan 1. Minimize, or better yet, eliminate processed foods from the diet. Foods such as refined sugars and bleached flour should be removed from the diet, along with other treated foods such as meat that have been treated with antibiotics or steroids. Hydrogenated fats such as margarine, peanut butter, butter, cakes should be avoided at all costs.

A rule of the thumb to follow is that if it is fast food, or wrapped in plastic and sold at supermarkets, or mass produced by someone else, you will have to look closer at the ingredients to see if it contains any of above mentioned ingredients. This effectively forces you to stick to fresh vegetables and fruits.

2. Avoid white starch Avoid white, starchy foods such as cakes, white breads, pasta, white rice, and others similarly processed starches. For your source of carbohydrates, stick to whole wheat, brown rice, and other unprocessed carbohydrates.

3. Go for high fiber, low starch vegetables Your mother was right about vegetables being good for the body. Fresh or steamed vegetables are great for people recovering from Candidiasis. Include broccoli, celery, asparagus, spinach, onions, cabbage, and ginger. Pay special note to onion and garlic as they are very potent antifungals.

4. Include high-protein food in your diet You will definitely need high-protein food in your diet. However, this is where it gets tricky. You must make sure that the protein sources in your diet are free from chemicals, hormones, steroids, antibiotics and other synthetic elements. A safe bet would be fish, and fowl that are not grown at poultries. Meat grown at poultries and farms are usually given antibiotics and steroids to both keep them away from disease and to expedite growth. The chemicals soup these animals have been exposed to have a secondary effect on those that consume these products.

For one, some cases of Candidiasis develop from resistance to antibiotics - which is exactly what will happen if you consume such meats.

5. Pay attention to fruits An alkaline body chemistry is important in discouraging the growth of Candida Albicans. Fruits, aside from being rich in nutrients, are helpful in righting the body's chemical and biotic balance. Some fruits have an alkalizing effect on the body and discourage the overgrowth of Candida.

6. Consult your doctor Most doctors heartily recommend the Candida Diet since it eliminates the need for systemic antifungals and in many cases performs better than these medicines - without the side effects! Consult your doctor so that he or she may properly supervise a diet regimen to treat the infection. ---------------------------------------- Note: This article may be freely reproduced as long as the AUTHOR'S resource box at the bottom of this article is included and and all links must be Active/Linkable with no syntax changes. -----------------------------------------

What Is A Yeast Infection And What Are The Causes?

Free Video Reveals 1 Weird Tip To Quickly Cure Your Candida Overgrowth & Enjoy Permanent Freedom From Yeast Infections In As Little As 12 Hours - Guaranteed!

>> Yeast Infection Guaranteed Treatment Click Here <<

A yeast infection is an infection caused by yeast of the species Candida. It is also referred to as candidiasis, which mostly infects women. It causes vaginal infections and some common mouth infections especially to people who have poor immune system and those who have been taking antibiotics.

A person becomes increasingly susceptible to yeast infection if they take large amount of antibiotics, have undergone organ transplants, has AIDS infection or artificial joints.

Candida albicans, along with the other forms of yeast, commonly grow in the vagina, mouth and rectum. A yeast infection occurs if a person?s immune system is unbalanced. This invites yeast like organisms to grow.

If you want to find out if you are affected with candidiasis, it is strongly advised that you see a doctor. Usually, a doctor or a clinician will take a sample of your oral plaque or vaginal discharge and examine the material under a microscope. Once examined, the doctor will be able to identify whether signs of infection are present and the current stage in the life cycle of the yeast infection.

It has been found yeast infections affects three out of four women. In the United States, nearly 50% of college women have been diagnosed with yeast infection at the early age of 25 and almost 5% of those diagnosed go on to develop chronic yeast infections. Candidiasis can be easily treated but you should know and understand how it can be prevented so it will not lead to serious infections.

During pregnancy, a woman has increased levels of estrogen which causes the increased production of glycogen in the vagina. At this time, increased yeast growth is often observed. If a pregnant woman is observed to have signs of candidiasis, she may pass the infection to her newborn baby in the form of thrush. This can be seen as white patches present in the baby?s mouth at birth.

So if you are pregnant and you have signs of yeast infection, you should see your doctor for the appropriate treatment.
